Mental Health Committee

Introduction

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the world began to understand — more than ever before — that health is not just physical. The isolation, uncertainty, and emotional toll experienced during those years revealed a truth that had long remained in the shadows: mental health matters.

It was in this spirit of reflection and responsibility that the Women’s Institute of Management formed its Mental Health Committee in 2024. The committee emerged with a clear and compassionate mission — to address the growing concerns surrounding emotional and psychological well-being, and to give voice and structure to an issue that could no longer be overlooked.

Recognising that the journey toward healing requires more than awareness alone, the Committee has committed itself to a broader vision:
– To educate and inform,
– To equip individuals with tools for resilience, and
– To foster safe, sustainable support systems across all levels of society.

Through workshops, dialogues, resources, and community-driven initiatives, the WIM Mental Health Committee seeks to create a space where emotional well-being is honoured, and where no one feels alone in their struggle. The Committee’s Chairman is Dato Dr. Marina David, email: drmarinadavid@yahoo.co.uk.

Above all, this Committee stands as a testament to WIM’s ongoing dedication to empowerment, empathy, and the well-being of the whole person – mind, body, and soul.
