ICT Partners:
NATIONWIDE INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (NICT) PARTNERSHIP WITH WIM
On 22nd February 2001, YAB the Prime Minister launched WIM’s First Nationwide ICT Training Programme(NICT) for Women. This Programme was realized with the support of 10 NICT Partners, and resulted in the training of 565 women in various categories of ICT topics. As far back as then WIM realized that women should not be left behind and gain access to ICT training as soon as possible. WIM is proud that it is making a modest contribution towards the goals of the Malaysian K-Economy Master Plan.
Owing to popular demand, WIM has extended its 3nd NICT Training for Women with the support from 11 NICT Partners who have responded with interest to conduct another round of ICT training for women, this time WIM having successfully trained 454 participants.
The 4th WIM NICT Programme is now underway. We are pleased to invite your esteemed IT company to be part of our team to share the social responsibility towards accessing ICT courses to women throughout the country.
To become a WIM NICT Partner, the responsibilities are to:
- locate a training venue with computers or to use WIM’s Computer Lab if you do not have one;
- assign a trainer for a specific course;
- provide course title/topic with course content and date;
- commit to 4 rounds of training sessions for 20 participants each, throughout one year period.
Training topics can be on Microsoft Application, Internet or any topic which is in popular demand at the current moment.
WIM’s responsibilities are to:
- market and recruit participants;
- take charge of all the administration matters;
- prepare refreshments and lunch if training is to be conducted at Wisma WIM;
- issue Certificate of Attendance.
Acknowledgement of your participation will be in the form of a WIM Certificate, which will be presented to you by a VIP at a major WIM event.
